Finding A Work/Life Balance
Sharing a few thoughts on a cold January day in Exeter
I always have mixed feelings about this time of year. I don’t like the winter, it doesn’t suit me at all, but I do see it as a new beginning, a time to reflect and maybe reset. What will this year offer me? What might open up for me this year?
Already a new work opportunity has come my way, but I’m aware that this only happened because I paused late last year, and made changes to reshape my counselling and supervision practice, thereby creating new space for new things to come in.
I’m very grateful that I’m able to do the work that I love, that enriches and sustains me., and helps other people. A good balance for me, but this wasn’t always the case. It’s been quite a journey, with a few bumps in the road along the way.
I’m a very enthusiastic practitioner of self care, and have been for may years; long before it became a “thing”. My approach includes regular time off, in my case, mainly in sunny warm places, and regular me time even when at home.
What’s your approach? How do you manage the work/life balance that you keeps you happy and well?
Sending my best wishes and hoping you all have the year that you wish for.
