Celebrating my first anniversary in Exeter!

It’s now a year since I moved to Exeter from Edinburgh where I lived and worked as a counsellor for 11 years, so I thought I would celebrate this milestone anniversary and share a few of my thoughts.

What a full year this has been, full of exciting challenges and new beginnings. establishing myself in private practice in my new home city. I now know first-hand the highs and lows of making this kind of life and work transition.

It takes a lot of energy and self-belief and even the most confident of us can find this difficult at times and we can only benefit by reaching out for help and support, both practical and emotional. We need to find ways to re-charge our batteries and be mindful of our overall self-care.

I’ve been delighted to have been met with a very warm welcome from my new professional colleagues and contacts. Thank you all very much, it’s made the move much easier.

I’m now working with a wide and diverse range of clients, both face to face in my city centre practice and online. I have particular interest in and experience of working with university students, womens issues, health and wellbeing and relationships and I look forward to welcoming new clients in the year ahead.
